Rural England
June 3 – June 18, 2006
A great opportunity to visit some of the best of England's south and
north, including its wonderfully diverse scenery, picturesque villages
with thatched cottages, stately homes, castles, world-famous gardens,
Roman ruins, fascinatingly different museums, and three of the special
Treasure Houses. Covering Kent, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, the Lake District,
the Potteries, and Buckinghamshire for fabulous Blenheim Palace and
Waddesdon Manor, one of the 42 houses of Ferdinand de Rothschild.
We travel by steam train to the North Yorkshire Moors village of
Goathland, better known to "Heartbeat" fans as Aidensfield, as
well as visiting sites of many movies, TV series and novels. En route
through the countryside we stop at many charming local pubs for lunch.
Prices are all-inclusive of bed, breakfast and evening meals and all
entrance fees to 25 of England's top attractions—all in the countryside.
